The Job

The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by focusing on the profitability of the business. Focusing on forecasting, budgeting, preparing financial statements, preparing tax returns, calculating depreciation and amortization, reconcile intercompany accounts, supervise and train staff.

- Maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures.

- Maintain and secure assets, minimizing outstanding receivables and investments inventories.

- Prepare in conjunction with General Manager, Director of Finance and Department Heads, all operational budgets and forecasts.

- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. 

- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements.

Oversee payroll processing and prepare monthly payroll journal entry

- Develop and maintain internal controls in all departments.

- Maintain all contracts, leases, and other legal and financial records.

- Implement and support property operating policies and procedures.

- Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal Jaws and government regulations.

- Ensure property is in compliance with Management Contract.

- Assist in development of Risk Management program. Maintain insurance (general liability, property, and Worker's

Compensation) programs.

- Coordinate all financial audits by outside concerns.

- Coordinate internal financial training and development of Department Heads and Managers.

- Function as financial advisor to Conference Center and provide on-going special project.

- Prepare periodic presentations at owners meeting.

The Ideal Candidate

- You are a detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and love luxury & lifestyle brands

- You have strong communication skills and enjoy interacting with people in a fast-paced environment

- You are a master multitasker and have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude

- You are fast, efficient, organized and an expert problem solver

- You have at least 4 years experience as hotel/resort controller

- Reading and writing and oral proficiency in the English language

- Computer literate with a strong knowledge of MS office

- Ability to work and remain calm and professional under potentially stressful situations to ensure guest satisfaction

- Dependable and available to work within the hotel on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

Additional Details

- Position requires walking and giving direction most of the work day. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Requires

grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to

250 lbs. occasionally.
