JOB SUMMARY

This position contributes to Sanctuary success by providing support for the Food & Beverage department. The Barista is responsible for providing the highest quality service possible to guests while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation of the coffee shop. They must and provide a welcoming environment with a focus on our superior standards, which displays a sense of pride in the Sanctuary Commitments and Sanctuary Standards of Excellence, critical to the success of this position.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive.

  • Embodies the standards of the Gurney’s Brand by displaying professionalism in all forms of communication. Demonstrate the ability to lead and build capable teams and be a steward of our culture.
  • Ensure effective communication throughout the property.
  • Promote a positive and safe atmosphere that makes all team members feel comfortable.
  • Assist Guests and Employees in ordering, answering questions regarding all food & beverage offerings, modifications and allergies. 
  • Prepare all drinks as ordered to our company standards.
  • Clean debris from tables, floors, chairs and side stations throughout shift, using proper equipment, cloths and sanitizer. 
  • Along with co-workers, complete daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side-work checklists.
  • Set up stations for food and beverage service as needed, i.e.: pastry display, coffee stations, condiments, disposable packaging, grab and go food, etc.
  • Maintain organized and orderly workstations.
  • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

•      The ability to lift 30 pounds.

•      Availability to weekends and holidays.

•      A positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.

•      Be actively involved and visibly present in the daily operation for not only our Guests, but also your Employees.

•      Responsible for maintaining a safe & comfortable work environment for all team members. Ensure all health and safety protocols are implemented and maintained. Guarantee any health procedures are executed as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent. Current Arizona Food Handler’s Card.

 

Related Work Experience

 Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurants
