JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Finance contributes to Sanctuary Camelback Mountain’s success by providing leadership in all financial areas of the resort hotel with the highest standards of service and ethics. The Director of Finance is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring the property meets the levels of internal controls, managing the budgeting, forecasting, and month end processes, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

JOB FUNCTIONS
Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive
- Prepare, review, and present the monthly financials for the resort.
- Responsible for monthly forecasting and cash flow schedules.
- Oversee the annual budget process.
- Analyze financial data of operations to identify areas for revenue growth and cost savings improvement.
- Prepare information for annual audit of the entity, the association, and the 401(k) plan and oversee audit process and directly interact with outside auditors.
- Hire, train and supervise Accounting and Purchasing department associates.
- Oversee and direct all billing and collection of charges from resort guests and members and Casita owners.
- Monitor and approve all expenses of the resort.
- Oversee and direct financial functions of the Casitas.
- Oversee all contracts and legal agreements, and ensure maintenance and compliance with all licenses, permits, insurance and contracts.
- Ensure timely remittance of all financial, tax and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure compliance with all financial covenants.
- Establish and audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories and resort equipment.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management.
- Ensure strong communication and an excellent working relationship with ownership.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable law.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities requested by the Managing Director, the management company, and ownership.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Knowledge of business law, federal, state and local taxes. Also, Department of Labor regulations.
- Knowledge of departmental operations a must.
- Knowledge of insurance, employee benefits, claims and liability.
- Must maintain highest ethical standards – possessing integrity, honesty, care and fair mindedness.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a computer.
- Maintain a high level of work quality and quantity per resort standards.
- Promote excellent guest relations while living the Sanctuary Commitments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Related Work Experience
- Minimum of six years of relevant experience in a director level role in a decentralized accounting system.
Required Knowledge
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Past experiences with Opera, Oracle Simphony, SpaSoft, and treasury reporting are highly recommended
