Human Resources Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting Sanctuary’s mission to attract, engage, and retain exceptional talent. This hands-on leader ensures the effective execution of daily HR operations while supporting strategic projects that enhance workplace culture, compliance, and team development. This highly visible role ensures the seamless execution of daily HR operations while actively contributing to long-term initiatives that strengthen workplace culture, compliance, and team development.

 

As a collaborative and trusted resource for both leaders and team members, the HR Manager is responsible for providing guidance on HR practices, supporting employee relations, and ensuring consistent implementation of policies across the property. This individual is expected to work in partnership with the Human Resources Coordinator, offering guidance and support as needed. The ideal candidate is service-driven, solutions-oriented, and knowledgeable in HR best practices and employment law.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

HR Leadership & Department Support

  • Support the Director of Human Resources in executing departmental initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Oversee daily HR operations including employee relations and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Human Resources Coordinator and ensure continuity of support during their absence.
  • Represent the HR department in internal meetings and lead decision-making processes as needed.

 

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead recruitment efforts for exempt positions, ensuring alignment with Sanctuary’s values and high service standards.
  • Partner with hiring managers to craft compelling job postings, screen qualified candidates, and facilitate an efficient interview process.
  • Manage the onboarding experience for exempt employees, ensuring a smooth, professional, and welcoming transition into the organization.

 

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing approachable, timely, and supportive guidance to team members across the resort.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources on escalated or complex employee concerns to ensure fair and consistent resolution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, promote a positive workplace culture, and boost team morale.

 

Leave Management & Accommodations

  • Coordinate leave of absence processes including FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation, ensuring legal compliance and compassionate handling.
  • Maintain accurate leave documentation and assist in communication with managers and affected employees.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to track, report, and resolve leave-related matters.

 

Compliance & Policy Support

  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits, assist with policy development, and provide training to leaders as needed.
  • Assist with investigations and support resolution of employee issues in a consistent and legally compliant manner.

 

HR Operations & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Recommend and implement improvements to HR processes, systems, and documentation.
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field major.

Related Work Experience

Minimum 4 - 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Resort experience is strongly preferred

PHR or SHRM-CP designation through SHRM preferred.

Required Knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong HRIS knowledge and data accuracy skills.
