JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                                                              

This position contributes to Sanctuary success by promoting, prospecting and selling Sanctuary through personal sales calls, written correspondence, telemarking, site inspections and local and regional prospecting/generating and maximizing revenue.  A focus on living the Sanctuary Commitments and our vision of Where Pride and Compassion Meet are also critical to the success of this position as a Sanctuary community member.


JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                                                                                            

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive

  • Responsible for achieving quarterly revenue goal and annual rooms budget.
  • Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all functions of the position.
  • Perform daily phone solicitation of leads.
  • Conduct site inspections with prospective clients.
  • Promote, prospect and sell Sanctuary through personal sales calls, written correspondence, telemarking, site inspections and local/regional prospecting, generating, and maximizing revenue.
  • Research availability for clients on a daily basis.
  • Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts to bring maximum room and food & beverage incremental revenues to the resort.
  • Prepare and update quarterly tactical plan for market segment to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure the property needs are being met and sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
  • Participates in sales calls with sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Empowers staff by displaying leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations.
  • Executes and supports Sanctuary service standards and resort’s brand standards. 
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Serves the guest by understanding their needs, recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building loyalty to Sanctuary.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be well organized.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and achieve closing a sale.

  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit continuously to perform essential job functions.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and excellent/professional communication skills required.
  • Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.
  • Requires extending arms, bending and stooping to reach materials in drawers or on shelves.
  • Adhere to attire, personal hygiene and appearance standards at all times.
  • Take the initiative to make contributions to the department and resort while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers. 
  • Maintain good safety habits and report unsafe or hazardous conditions to your manager.
  • Promote excellent guest relations while living the Sanctuary Commitments.
  • Maintain a high level of work quality and quantity per resort standards. 
  • Practice teamwork and effective communication with manager/supervisor/co-workers. 
  • Always maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and a positive attitude towards all.
  • Attend all meetings and training as scheduled by department manager.
  • Always report to your manager/supervisor when leaving your work area for meal or break.

 

QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                                                         

Education

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent

2-year or 4 degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.

Related Work Experience

Must have a minimum of 5 years Resort Sales experience.

Required Knowledge

Excellent English verbal, written, and communication skills. 

Proficient in computers Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
