Located in Paradise Valley, Arizona; Sanctuary is now hiring for our Food and Beverage Team.




 This position contributes to Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain success by serving as a Pool Manager of the resort Pool staff while maintaining a focus on consistently providing a memorable experience for our guests and members. The Pool Manager is expected to be a "hands on" leader responsible for payroll, scheduling, training, motivating, and developing Pool staff members while maintaining a high level of guest service; with a focus on living the Sanctuary Commitments and our Promise of Care Enough to do it well, critical to the success of this position as a Sanctuary community member.


Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive
Responsible for the daily operations of the Pool. 


Responsible for directing and assigning duties to Pool staff.


Complete staff schedules and monitor employee time clock entries for missing/improper punches.


Effectively coach and counsel (when appropriate) providing continued staff development


Effectively resolve staff workplace issues through problem resolution


Effectively recommend as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments, disciplinary actions.


Be thoroughly familiar with menus, ingredients and preparation for each dish served at the Pool.


Know the Pool drink menu, wine list, and hours of operation for all food and beverage outlets.


Knowledgeable about the resort and its amenities & of casita layout and the property.


Monitor towel/dish pickup procedures; establish timely pick-up and cleanliness of the pool deck.


Ensure pool deck, pool bar and all pool areas are clean and organized, and all equipment is functioning properly; report any problems to the Director of Engineering immediately.


Responsible for fulfilling all functions required by accounting.


Monitor food and drink orders to ensure they are prepared to standards, and delivered on time.


Be aware of all liquor laws as well as company and department policies regarding consumption.


Maintain inventories and control costs. Perform monthly inventory and reconcile with purchases to confirm accurate usage.


Coordinate seasonal hours of operation. Communicate changes in an efficient and timely manner.


Familiar with Maricopa County Health Code and responsible for the compliance of the Pool Bar, and related employees.


Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management.


Test staff monthly on menu descriptions and descriptions and side work responsibility.


Attend weekly F&B and Staff meetings; check Banquet Event Orders to prepare for any scheduled functions, and inform crew of upcoming events.


Perform additional duties as requested by elements General Manager.




The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.


Ability to drive a golf cart.


Ability to carry loaded trays on slippery surfaces. Ability to handle hot plates and equipment.


Pleasant personality to effectively deal with guest questions and service.


Ability to identify, address and resolve conflict.


Knowledgeable regarding food, beverage and pool service standards.


Be aware of all liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption.


Ability to stand for 8 hours , and or walk continuously to perform essential job functions throughout shift under extreme weather conditions, when necessary.


Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, and boxes of 40 lbs


Ability to visually see and recognize to be able to report safety hazards


Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English


Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and work smoothly in high stress/pressure work environment. Solid interpersonal skills and positive attitude. Strong attention to detail a must.


Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook


Be well organized, able to direct others and lead by example


Promote excellent guest relations while living the Sanctuary Commitments


Practice teamwork and effective communication with manager and staff


At all times maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and a positive attitude towards all resort guests and fellow co-workers





Education- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent. Current Food Handler’s Card and Title 4 Manager Alcohol Certification.


Related Work Experience- Previous food and beverage experience required.


Minimum two to three years F&B Manager experience required. Experience with hospitality and customer service required.
