Staff Accountant

The Job//
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in income audit, month end entrees, and balance sheet reconciliation.

  • Spa membership billing.
  • Generate and distribute daily flash report in a timely manner. 
  • Audit Gift Certificates and Trade Scripts. 
  • Audit room/home statistics, allowance/misc. postings, room charges, and comp/promo tickets.
  • Maintain Owners Participation records for Casitas and Casas.
    • Occupancy tracking for Casitas and Casas.
    • Maintain Capital Projects spreadsheets.
    • Audit package and guest promotional folios.
  • Maintain audit and post the following journals monthly:
  • Opera, Spa, Food and Beverage revenue journals.
  • Food and Beverage Comp & Promos; Spa Comp Promo.
  • Miscellaneous Journal; Allowance Journal.
  • Allowance Costing Spreadsheets.
  • Complete account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Field chargebacks and guest disputes and billing inquiring. 
  • Ensure that email inquiries are professionally handled quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain good safety habits and report unsafe or hazardous conditions to Security.
  • Act as a liaison between department managers and Accounting department.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities asked by the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance.
  • Assist accounting team with monthly filing.

The Ideal Candidate// 

  • You are a detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and love luxury & lifestyle brands
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy interacting with people in a fast-paced environment
  • You are a master multitasker and have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude 
  • You have prior accounting experience, have knowledge of computerized accounting system.
  • You have an aptitude for detail and accurate accounting procedures.
  • Reading and writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Computer literate with a strong knowledge of MS office
  • Knowledge of PMS and POS operations such as Opera and Micros 3700 is preferred. 
  • Ability to work and remain calm and professional under potentially stressful situations to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Dependable and available to work weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
